My name is Dorothy Garrett and I will be the Senior Tour Guide for this trip. Our aim is to show you some of the myriad geological processes that shape the Earth, and to educate you on some of the past and future processes that ultimately affect our planet, how the earth has changed, and is still changing, as we speak. We will be exploring earthquake and volcanic activity, ground water features, and what causes the formations along some of our coastal structures. Understanding geological processes help us in many ways. Prior knowledge of volcanic activity and previous earthquake prone areas will help us in planning whether or not we should build communities in these locations.
