A Greek Hero: Cyclops Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

When the Cyclops passed out, Odysseus and his men shoved the hot smoldering spear into his one big eye. The Cyclops yelled and screamed as blood ran down his body, he had been blinded. This is just one of the stories that Odysseus and his men are involved with in the story, The Odyssey. As you probably know, Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and hero of the Odyssey, is a great example of a Greek Hero. Odysseus is smart, brave, a good leader and much more. With all these qualities, he fits the criteria to be, a Greek hero. Odysseus is a very smart man. He is not only smart, but he knew how to use his head. Referring back to the Cyclops story, instead of killing the giant Cyclops, Odysseus knew that if they were to kill the Cyclops, they would have no way out of the cave. Even all his men put together would not be enough to move the monstrous boulder that blocked the only exit out of the Cyclops cave.
