Milton Friedman - Famous Economist Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

July 31, 1912 a famous economist was born, from Jewish immigrants Sarah Ethel and Saul Friedman. Milton Friedman was the forth child born into this family, the only son. At the age of one, he and his family moved from his birthplace New York City to Rahway, New Jersey. At the age of 20, he went to college on scholarships to Rutgers University to receive his .B.A. in math. Then he went on to earn his .M.A. from the University of Chicago in 1933, and went to get his PH.D. from Columbia in 1946. While at Chicago University he met the love of his life, Rose Director, they plan to get married but they had to wait because of financial difficulties from the depression. After graduating college, he wanted to pursue more studies in math, but the state of national economy convinced him to pursue more studies in economics. In 1937, he joined the research staff from National Bureau of Economic Research in New York. After a year of a steady job in 1938, Friedman and his wife moved to Wisconsin to accept a job at University of Wisconsin. He was forced to quit after a year becau......
