A Southern Perspective on the American Civil War Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The aftermath of any war can be very tricky, when it comes to resolving issues between the parties involved. In the American Civil War, the Confederate army lost to the Union army, who then occupied the South. The differences between the American Civil War and most other wars are, that the South kept all of its territory from before the war and that their soldiers, who had been captured, were quickly pardoned and returned home. Before the war took place, both the Northerners and the Southerners felt that this war would be short lived. Little did they know that it would take four years and thousands of lives, before the Civil War would finally be over. The experiences of the invasion and occupation helped shape the southern post-war mentality. Thanks to Stephen V.
