Every student entering the classroom brings with him or her an established set of skills and characteristic features, which are helpful to establish the learning environment and to acquire other language. (Halliwell 2000: 5) The teacher’s role is to recognize the features and include them in the learning process. Many factors need to be taken into account when considering the qualities of a young learner, “because each student brings a unique personality to the classroom, it is often difficult to assess the factors involved” (Harmer 1998: 7) It is even more difficult when talking about children’s language learning.
