Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the two major stages in the history of cosmetic surgery.
Central Idea: The two major stages in the history of cosmetic surgery are the period of world wars in the early 1900s and the start of the Information and media frenzied stage which was the late 1950s to present.

I. Picture: For those of you who dont know this is Jocelyn Wildenstein. She is known for her ridiculous obsession with cosmetic surgery. Although this picture doesnt necessarily represent how we as a society view cosmetic surgery today it does however show that we use cosmetic surgery in a vein way. It wasnt always like this!
A. I know myself and many of you didnt know that cosmetic surgery had its beginnings in the days of the world wars.
