The title of this book report is The Prince and the Pauper. The author of this book is Mark Twain. Mark Twain was born Samuel Clemens on November 30, 1835, in Florida, Missouri. Mark Twain is best known for his funny story, the Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County. His most famous novels are The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court. In this book Mark Twain made fun at the old upper-class in England and showed how wrong it was to judge people by their outside appearances.
The setting of this story took place in London sometime between 1525 and 1550. This story is based on two boys, Tom Canty and Edward Tudor who were both born on the same day. Tom Canty was born to parents who were considered as a begger and a thief. His family wore raggedy clothes and lived in one crowded room. Toms parents considered him as just another unwelcome mouth to feed. On the other hand Edward Tudor was born into a rich family who lived in a palace and went wild with the joy of his birth.
