Everyone loves spending time at the ocean and listening to the waves crash while watching a beautiful sunset close then end of a beautiful day. Six bags up trash later and over 100 little fish lying dead on the sand begins to make you wonder why we are contributing to trashing such beautiful water with incredibly living organisms in it.
Point source pollution happens when a pollutant comes from a distinct source. 60% of the words water is from point source. In one week, about 210,000 gallons of sewage is placed into the ocean from cruise ships (Grinning planet, 2005). Point source pollution has been happening for many years now and not just from cruise ships, in New York and other costal cities, they used to dump sewage into the Ocean (The ocean and fisheries, ch.11). Along with polluting the ocean with the garbage, it will also kill the species and plant life that is living in the ocean.
