I. Introduction
In the film Scream, the revelation that "it's not the movies" tried to dispel the myth that media violence causes real violence. While the conclusion sounds plausible, the truth is that most studies contradict that assumption. According to many researchers, media has an influence on children and teenagers. When violence is observed, teens become desensitized to it and they sometimes imitate the worst scenes in their favorite films. In fact, most research in television violence does demonstrate a relationship between the exposure to aggression and subsequently exhibited aggression (Scott, 1995). The television violence debate however has been expanded to include video games (1995). C. Everett Koop (1982) said that children are attracted to video games which get them to the point so that when they see another child being molested, they do nothing.
