Why Did World War One Break Out?
In 1914 one of the biggest wars in history broke out. It was first known as The Great War but is now called World War One as so many countries got involved. This essay will be about the causes of the war all long term, mid term, short term and trigger causes and which cause was the most important. Some of the causes of the war were the System of Alliances, Rivalry between Austria-Hungary and Russia over the Balkans, Germanys wish to dominate Europe, The Assassination of the Austrian heir and Germanys invasion of Belgium. The one I think was the most important was the System of Alliances as this was the cause that involved many other countries into the war. The countries involved in World War One were AustriaHungary, Germany, Britain, Italy, Russia and France. The war lasted for four years and ended in 1918.
