Business ethics is important to companies because they need to exhibit high moral standards when dealing in business practices. Before discussing business ethics one needs to fully understand the definition of ethics. Ethics first deals with individual character, including what it means to be a moral person and secondly the social rules that govern and limit our conduct, especially the ultimate rules concerning right and wrong, which we call morality (Shaw).
