How and why did the Tsar survive the 1905 Revolution? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In a historical-political context the word revolution is defined as a permanent turning point or political change, often reached after an act of violence, but I doubt that the events of 1905 actually fit this definition. Nothing changed in the way Russia was ruled after the events of 1905, even though the Duma was set up it had no real power and Russia was still ruled by the Tsar Nicholas II, on whom the events, which lead to no significant changes and therefore can not be called a “revolution”, had not much of an impact. The question I would ask is “How and why did the Tsar avoid a revolution which had chances of happening in 1905?” One of the reasons the Tsar survived the so called “revolution” in 1905 was that none of the main revolutionary figures were actually present in Russia at that time. Lenin, for example, at that time was resting in neutral Switzerland and therefore the Bolsheviks had a definite lack of organization and leadership. Because of this fact I have great doubts if the event of 1905 could actually be called a “revolution”, in my opinion it was just a......
