American Literature Huck Finn Essay Mark Twain’s novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, may be one of the most interesting and complex books ever written. On the outside of the story, one can see an exciting tale of heroism and adventure; but, that is not all. Mark Twain uses a lot of different American values in his book. He does this through all his characters. The character that Twain chose to represent maturity was Huckleberry Finn. Throughout the novel you can see a bunch of signs of change. The setting is constantly changing, except for the River. Huck and Jim, a runaway slave, under-go many changes themselves. At the end of the novel Huck shows a huge change in his level of maturity since the beginning of the book. Mark Twain exudes a strong sense of hatred towards civilization and a continuous climax of Huckleberry Finns growth of maturity. In Mark Twain’s novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, he describes Huck as a normal, laid back kid living in the 1800’s. Huck tends to rejects civilization because he has no reason for it, he hates the whole idea ......
