How do the characters of Brutus and Cassius change throughout the play Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Shakespeare’s famous Roman play evolves around two major characters in the play, a noble Brutus and a more jealous and untrustworthy Cassius. The book is based on a popular and well-known dictator who is known as Julius Caesar who has just come out victorious from a battle with one of the former rulers of Rome, Pompey. The play is a tragedy written by Shakespeare in 1599 in Julius Caesar showing the various strands of politics, character, inwardness, and contemporary events, even Shakespeare's own reflections on the act of writing. At the start of the play a dominant Cassius successfully persuades a confused Brutus into killing Caesar on the ides of March, however, both characters of Brutus and Cassius have totally different views. For example, Brutus believed they killed Caesar in the name of justice but on the other hand Cassius was thought to have done it out of greed. Unfortunately for both, they are driven out of Rome and as the play slowly comes to an end they are placed in a battle between Mark Antony and Octavius Caesar, who were very close followers of Caesar.
