In the 18th century, one of the most intellectual biologists had made his way through scientific history. His name was Carl von Linné a.k.a. Carolus Carl Linnaeus. Much like many other biologists this man began his studies at a young age. On May 23, 1707, Carolus Linnaeus was born. He was born in Råshult, a town in Småland, Sweden. As a child, Linnaeus had been groomed to be a priest like his father and maternal grandfather. His father, Nils Linnaeus, was also an avid gardener, which influenced Carolus into pursuing the study of plants.
