Young, talented, respected by their elders and peers, they have the opportunity to travel places most people will never see is what all young world-class athletes are blessed with, sounds like a lot of fun and easy life right? I am a young performance athlete, and while many opportunities are great, people seem to fail to realize how tough it is to be a high-performance athlete. Most adults, peers and friends realize the time and dedication that is put in my sport, but fail to realize there is more than just time I sacrifice. While many of my friends think that all of my life is glamorous and exciting and would trade their life for mine any day. There are a lot of sacrifices and stress that goes along with being a world-class athlete, especially a young one trying to balance out their social, training and academic lifestyle.
