Bud, Not Buddy book report Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Bud, Not Buddy is about an African American boy who lived with his mother for six years and never knew who his father was. His name is Bud, but some people call him Buddy which he doesn’t like. This story starts when he is sent to a foster home of the Amoses. The foster home is a family of three; there is a twelve year old boy, Todd, who is two years older than Bud who is ten, Mr. Amos, and Mrs. Amos. Todd isn’t a nice boy, he fought with Bud. The mother, Mrs. Amos believes everything that her son says so she believed him when he said Bud was the one who picked the fight. Then Mr. Amos was the one who locked up Bud in the old and dirty shed in the backyard. When he ran away to try and find his father he met a friend from the Home. They met people who are also in trouble of the Great Depression in a place called Hooverville. Bud also got his first kiss there with a girl, Deza Malone, and he also tried to hop a train which means to get on a train without paying, he failed so he tried to walk to Chicago and on the way he met Lefty Lewis and went to his house for a night and then g......
