My Left Foot
My Left Foot is an autobiography written by Christy Brown who was born in 1932, a victim of cerebral palsy, he could not control his speech or his movement, apart from his left foot. Throughout the book we discover the difficulties and achievements through his younger and teenage life. Within my essay I intend to explore who helped Christy achieve success in his life? The key people who support and help him throughout the book are his siblings /Jenny /Doctors, his mother and Christy himself.
At the start of the book we learn that Christys siblings have a significant part to play in Christys success in life due, to their love and protection towards him. Christy was one of 23 children, he had many brothers and sisters who helped him with his illness all of his life. However Christy was particularly close to his brothers, who would take him out to associate with children of his own age. I admire his brothers for doing this as this gave Christy a normal childhood, which many people with his illness dont normally get an opportunity of having.
