Boston was a very uneasy town throughout the 1770's. This got worse as time went on, until it erupted into bloodshed. What was it that built up this hatred and what sparked this massacre?The Boston Massacre solved many problems for the Americans. For the Americans winning their first true battle against the British gave a real push for true freedom. The Americans fought for what they believed in because it is what they truly wanted, and it was their instinct to rebel. This event was one of the biggest turning points for the American Revolutionists.
The Boston Massacre took place on March 5, 1770 on the streets of Boston, in the shimmering moonlight. The action that sparked this battle was a small group of men and boys taunting a sentry standing guard at the city's customs house. Prior to this night on March 2, an off duty guard asked if there was any work that needed to be done. A ropes maker replied Go clean my outhouse! he jeered(www.crf-usa.org).
