INTRODUCTION Founded in Cleveland Ohio 1936 by K. Huffman, Huffman Trucking started with a single tractor-trailer. World War II was the direct result for the growth of Huffman Trucking as the nation had an increased demand for carrier services between ports on the East Coast and factories in the Midwest. By 1945 Huffman Trucking fleet had grown in size to 16 tractors and 36 trailers. Huffman Trucking has maintained, for more than 60 years, their strong relationship and partnership with the U.S. Government. The growth Huffman Trucking continues today from the acquisition of five Eastern regional carriers and from internal sales which has allowed Huffman Trucking to maintain their privately held status. (University of Phoenix, 2004) The business ethics movement received a jump start when the U. S. Civil Rights Act of 1964 legislation was enacted.
