The Brain Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Does the mind run the brain or does the brain the mind or, rather, to what extent does one run each other? (Sacks 474) “The Ancients said that animals are taught through their organs; add this so are men, but they have the advantage of teaching their organs in return.”(Sacks 474) The Brain, an all and powerful organ, has the power to control our every action. Although we know these actions vary, how do they vary within an individual and help overcome certain aspects of life? Both Sacks and Stouts essays it deal with everyday people and how their brain reacts to their conditions. Sacks essay deal with people that have been diagnosed with blindness and how the brain reacts to being blind and heightens other senses. Stout encounters people with cases of dissociation where their brains have taken them to a whole different world to cope with what is happening in their life mostly caused from a negative past.
