Animal Testing is the use of animals instead of humans for research and development projects, like determining the safety of substances such as foods or drugs. Animal testing is done in laboratories mainly to test new drugs and foods because scientists say that the animals are like us humans and animals, such as monkeys or pigs have very similar structures to humans. In order for animal drug testing to happen the scientists need to create a drug that will cure a certain disease and then they are required to find a animal with that disease or find an animal without the disease but that has problems in that part of the body. The animals are first made to try the drugs then the scientists check if it has made a difference. In order for food testing normally they will only use animals if they want to know if it safe to eat etc. they would just study the animal then feed it with the food and keep on studying the animal to see the affects on it.
