Our group has selected to focus on the Asset Management Industry in Canada and has chosen XYZ Investments (ATI) - a division of UK based XYZ PARENT PLC, who manages over $600B. ATI is the employer of one of the team members and one of Canadas largest asset management companies, managing $50 Billion for over 1.5 million investors. The company manufactures and distributes mutual funds and provides support to financial institutions and over 25,000 financial advisors.
ATIs funds are intangible products and hence subject to a considerably different sales process than tangible goods. The funds are recommended by ATIs wholesalers to financial advisors, who in turn sell these products to their clients, the asset owners (aka end investors). Only then, does ATI receive credit for sales. Consequently, there is a delay, and one that is not always predictable, between the selling activities to advisors and those same advisors selling to asset owners.
