Mexican Revolution Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Crane Briton wrote the anatomy of a Revolution. This anatomy includes seven parts. The Revolution must contain discontent of the people, moderates then try to create a reform. If this reform works the revolution come to an end. If it doesnt work the radicals take over. Next there is a reign of terror to get rid of the people that disagree, followed by a reaction to the terror. A strong leader then emerges and in the end there is foreign intervention. A famous revolution that follows these guidelines was the Mexican Revolution.
The Revolution began in the 20th century while Mexico was under the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz. Under his control only a select few powerful people had a say in running Mexico. The average person was poor and had no freedom of speech. The younger generation wanted a say in government and grew very angry with the way things were ran. They started to rebel by promoting the Mexican Constitution which called for the right to vote for government officials. They were overturned by the money and power Diaz and his administration had.
