What is Philosophy ? Philosophy is the branch of knowledge or academic study devoted to the systematic examination of basic concepts such as truth, existence, reality, causality, and freedom. Or simple the love of wisdom. There are four primary areas of philosophy, Metaphysics, Epistenmology, Ethics, and Social and political philosophy. Metaphysics involves the study of what most would refer to as ultimate reality. This area of philosophy questions the basis of reality farther than just our on personal experiences and that of ordinary science. Question of metaphysics deal with free will, the mind-body relationship, supernatural existence, personal immortality, and the nature of being.(pg.4 Archetypes of Wisdom; Douglas J. Saccio) The question of free-will is described best in my opinion by William James. He argues that every person has his or her on will.
