Analysis of Hamlet Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

“Analysis of Hamlet” Prince Hamlet of Denmark is the main character in “Hamlet”. At the beginning of the story, Hamlet is off at Wittenberg. He returns home to Denmark because of news of his father’s death. When he arrives, he discovers his mother’s hasty engagement and marriage, to his father’s brother, his Uncle Claudius. Claudius has become the new King of Denmark. Hamlet describes the relationship between the King and himself as “A little more than kin, and less than kind!” {Act I, Scene 2} Hamlet is furious with his mother for her relationship with Claudius. Hamlet sees the ghost of his father, who tells him that he was murdered, by Claudius. When he describes the murder, he says, “Murder most foul, as in the best it is, But this most foul, strange, and unnatural.” {Act I, Scene 5} After he describes the murder to Hamlet, he persuades him kill his uncle Claudius, and revenge his death.
