When I came to college I thought it was going to be just like high school. I though that I was going to be able to do the work when I felt like it, do well on the tests, and breeze right through. I soon found out that I was sadly mistaken. College was not the joke I hoped it would be, and my first semester grades are proof of that. Although my grades were not worth of being shown off, I learned a good deal from them.
All throughout my education I have been a good test taker and not much of a likes to do homework type of person. So when I originally got to Pittsburgh I expected my test taking skills to carry me through my classes. However, over the course of my first semester I realized that teachers in college arent as lenient with late assignments and not doing work. Another problem I had was that, due to my unfamiliarity with being on my own, I didnt see the problem with going out every night and having fun all the time.
