A Raisin in the Sun is basically about dreams. In 1950¡¯s, many young people pursue to fulfill the American Dream like owning a home in a nice environmental area. While many families were able to save money easily and successfully fulfill their dreams, others were not so fortunate. As the main characters struggle to deal with the oppressive circumstances that rule their lives. The family struggle to attain these dreams throughout the play, and much of their happiness and depression is directly related to their attainment of, or failure to attain, these dreams. By the end of the play, they learn that the dream of a house is the most important dream because it unites the family. I think this play is vital to the life of every person. Without dreams, there is nothing to plan or look forward to.
