Face of Innocence (Emmit Till) Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Face of Innocence I was only a fourteen year old boy in the 1950s, when my life was taken from me I was brutally murdered in a small town in Mississippi called Bakersville. Two men were accused of the murder. Many of the racial issues that went on in my murder and the court case also were very difficult to understand. My life was somewhat the same as a typical African American with all the racism he had to face. At the time newspapers, both black and white owned, had different ways of looking at the murder. Some people still believe that I got what I deserved. I was just a young boy living in Chicago and was not used to all the racial tension in the South. I did not have to face them until I went to visit my uncle in Bakersville. I was used to living in the city, so I still had that northern mentality. I thought that life in Bakersville was going to be just like Chicago, just smaller. I soon realized just how different the south really was. I had two friends Rodney and Timothy.
