In the American history, from the birth of the Nation, there were many breaking inventions that affected the world history a lot. For example, the births of the automobile, cotton gin, the Morse codes development, and the secret weapon submarines. One of the fist submarines of the world was born in our country, America, in the great revolutionary war. It not only revolutionised our society but also the world. Many people said that the submarine led our world into a new way. Many submarines made the war become bloodier than it was in the past. And many of them are defending our worlds peace now.
The American first submarine was named for its shape, the Turtle. It was invented by a Yale graduate, David Bushnell (1742-1824). He designed and built a submarine with torpedo, the combat turtle in Conecticut, 1775.
