Alice's Psyche - Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Alice’s Psyche Dreams reflect the experiences we encounter throughout our lives. These journeys make us who we are. Because dreams unfold as we sleep, we have no choice of what they either echo or reveal. These echoes and revelations often contain both our conscious and subconscious thoughts. Alice, the main character in Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, learns this as she realizes her dreams reflect who she is. As a developing youth, in Wonderland, Alice faces challenges which force her to apply use of different parts of her psyche. A naïve person would assume Wonderland has been purely conjured from Carroll’s imagination, when really, these details prove to be far from random. They represent Alice’s psyche, and through analysis of her mind, we can connect the Garden to her id, the White Rabbit to her super-ego, and Alice to herself as her developing ego. Characteristics of the garden in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland closely embody those of Alice’s id. This includes the emotional and illogic......
