As to have the best estimate of the Terminal Value would not be trustworthy, but rather, we can draw the possible estimators and try to find the appropriateness of each to have better estimates as each has advantages and drawbacks.
We could firstly look at the Book Value of the company, which represents what actually recorded as assets or liabilities to the company. But this estimator would undervalue the value of the company since its value is not related to its assets rather than future revenue that could be generated.
Secondly, we could look at the liquidation value as the estimate of the terminal value. It is known that companies such as Rocky Mountains would not be estimated accurately by how liquid it could be, but it would be useful as a figure to assist in special cases such as if this value is higher than going concern value that includes the patent and goodwill of the company at the future time. By any means, we should not use this method, or rely on it as of the value is not depending on its assets.
