Morris, the manager of Diamond Chemicals¡¯ Works, found some problems of the antiquated production process: the deferral of maintenance became essential; production process was old and not continues at time; labor costs were relatively high.
Thus, she proposed an expenditure of £9 million on the improvement program. The program targeted on modernizing the process, reducing the energy wastes, increasing the output, market share, and also competitiveness.
