Canada has been blessed with many great Canadian Athletic Humanitarians. Out of the many, three of the greatest are Terry Fox, a disabled marathon runner diagnosed with cancer, Rick Hansen, a disabled man in a wheelchair effected by a spinal cord injury, and Tracey Ferguson, a wheelchair basketball Paralympics competitor and Canadian representative. These three people all have been known for their determination, talent, and passion for what they believe in. Terry Fox, Rick Hansen, and Tracey Ferguson are three of Canadas most honorable athletic humanitarians in history.
Terry Fox is one of Canadas most admirable athletic humanitarians. Terry was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a child, he was very athletic and participated vigorously in a variety of sports. When Fox was 18, he was diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma also known as bone cancer, and was forced to have his right leg amputated.
