Avon is a leading global beauty company, with $10 billion in annual revenue. As the world's largest direct seller, Avon markets to women in more than 100 countries through 5.4 million independent Avon sales representatives. Avon's product line includes beauty products, fashion jewelry and apparel, and features such well-recognized brand names as Avon Color, Anew, Skin-So-Soft, Advance Techniques, Avon Naturals, and Mark. This paper will discuss the grand strategy of the companys CEO, Andrea Jung, and if the strategy, in the opinion of the authors, is working.

Andrea Jungs grand strategy for Avon has merit. A portion of her strategy was to retain quality direct sales representatives. Avon was created as a direct sales organization and derives over 98% of its income from it, (Del Carro, Mockler, & Gartenfeld, 2004).
