Not all managers are the same and differing management styles over time can be effective in their own way. Some managers will give their employees free rein to do whatever they need to do to get a task completed while other managers will see to it that they are involved in all aspects of a task until completion. Both ways can be effective, but can also be detrimental to the employee as well as the organization that is where successful delegation comes into play. Delegation is defined as the assignment of authority and responsibility to another person, normally from a manager to a subordinate, to carry out specific activities.
