How the Virginia Tech Shooting could of been Prevented Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
On the morning of April 16, 2007, Seung-Hui Cho murdered thirty-two people and then himself during two separate attacks. In between attacks Seung- Hui Cho sent pictures of himself to NBC TV in New York. These fourty three pictures where of the killer posing like he was a toy or action figure dressed up in army camoflauge (http://virginiashooting.net). This shooting was the worst school shooting in United States History (Mial 1). Not only did the killer murder thirty-two other people, he wounded many others. Had it become a law earlier, it may well have saved the lives of thirty-two students who were killed at Virginia Tech by another mentally ill gunman, said Schumer (Flaherty 1). The Virginia Tech shooting could have been prevented by tougher gun laws that would have made it harder for the killer to get his hands on a gun, and warning signs that were shown by the killer could have been taken more seriously.
