Video Game crash of 1985 Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
The year is 1982 and the home video game market is a boom. At least one quarter of homes own a console and Atari is the leader of the video game market. Consumers buy almost every new game that comes out each week and almost every company wants to get in on the Home Video Game market to get a piece of the profit. Then all of a sudden, as fast as the market went up it just falls drastically down. Although the were several explanations for the fall some possible ones are that the market was flooded with multiple home consoles, it had almost triple the amount of badly made games than consoles that made consumers so frustrated that they just give up gaming all together (Video Game Crash), the fact that Atari dumped all of its unsold games in landfill, and also because the personal computer was on the rise during the time. This event was called The Video Game Crash where the market went from profitable to nothing in almost rapid succession. Although there is no one cause for this event theyre a couple of explanations (or possible theories) as to why the market just all of sudden die......
