Between 1933-1934 after Hitler was named as the new chancellor by President von Hindenburg, he had his faithful followers stoop to the lowest levels to effectively consolidate his power base and make himself supreme ruler.
Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor by President von Hindenburg on the January 20 1933. Once Hitler had been appointed, there were only three Nazis (Hitler, Göring, and Frick) in the cabinet, with Papen as Vice Chancellor. Hitler was unhappy about this situation so President Hindenburg agreed to dissolve the Reichstag and hold new elections march 5 1933. Hitler promised the people that the Nazis would win a majority in the new election.
As chancellor, Hitler continues to make himself increasingly more powerful. Göring is Minister of Interior in Prussia, a very useful and powerful position. Göring would make sure that no SA-men were arrested for interfering in other parties political meetings. He would also put Nazi-men in high positions.
