Hollow Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Throughout the novel The Hollow by Agatha Christie, there were many significant moments and scenes that set the story. Without these moments something would be taken from the plot of the story and the story would obviously not be the same. Throughout The Hollow, three such moments had a significant impact on me as a reader. The three most crucial moments in this story are when Hercule Poirot walked into the pool area and found Gerda Cristow holding a gun over John Cristows body, when Henrietta Savernake dropped the revolver in the pool, and when it was discovered that the gun Gerda was holding was not the murder weapon.
The scene with Gerda holding the gun over Johns body after just killing him is an obvious crucial moment in the story. If the reader, through Poirot, had not seen Gerda with the gun and though she had just showed up on the scene like all of the other characters, she would be an immediate suspect like everyone else.
