Violence In The Workplace Has Reached Epidemic Proportion Workplace violence has emerged as a critical safety and health issue. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, homicide is the second leading cause of death to Americans workers, accounting for 16 percent of the 6,588 fatal work injuries in the United States. http://www.bls.gov/iif/home.htm This paper will focus on violence committed by workers or former workers and why the brutality is aimed at colleagues, supervisors and managers.
