Analysis of The Afterlife By Billy Collins Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Billy Collins, the United States Poet Laureate, uses many different approaches and themes in his poetry. In The Afterlife, he uses both satire and humor to convey his message to the readers. This use of satirical humor separates him from several contemporary American poets. His meditative lyrics utilize a range of tones, from the absurd to the highly serious. (Riggs 186) Collinss poems, which often depict the life of a regular guy going through life, always manage to discuss serious ideas.
