Many people wonder about their ethnic background and the discrimination that their
ancestors faced. This paper takes the readers on a journey through the racial and ethnic
discrimination faced by people of Irish ethnicity.
People of Irish descent began immigrating to the United States in the 19th century. They
traveled here aboard ships referred to as �Coffin Ships� because of the crowded and deplorable
