The Three Most Influential People in Sports Media Today Today, some of the most powerful and influential people in sports come from the mass media. Arguably, the leading media outlet for sports has to be television. With that said, the three most influential voices in sports media today are from the field of television. ESPN/ABC, NBC, and FOX are major players when it comes to televising sports and major events. Many of the biggest sporting events of the year are aired on these three television networks. The Sporting News ranks the leaders of ESPN/ABC, NBC, and FOX sports as three of the most powerful people in all of sports. Therefore, I believe George Bodenheimer, Dick Ebersol, and David Hill are the most influential voices in sports media today. George Bodenheimer is a cable and ESPN pioneer.
