Men and women are not only naturally different. The way they are viewed and treated in society adds to their different characteristics. The most obvious differences are the colors used during early ages. Not only do children get wrapped in colored sheets as they are born, girls in pink and boys in blue, but their rooms are usually this color too. I had never really though this through until now. It was always obvious that pink was for girls and blue for boys, but I never really understood why. Since the moment we come into the world, our minds are forced by society to think in this certain way; it is the way we adapt to life and society.
This color separation of boys and girls does not only appear in colors. When I think of blue, I imagine the sea and the sky. The sea is strong and powerful and it covers about 80% of the whole world and the sky is limitless. These are also words that were used to describe boys the hallmark cards.
