Someone Like You Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In the novel, Someone Like You, by Sarah Dessen, two sixteen-year-olds best friends, Halley and Scarlett have known each other since they were eleven, when Scarlett and her mother moved in next door next to Halley’s family. The two girls become friend immediately. The story takes place at the end of the summer before the girls; junior year of high school. The main characters of the book are Halley and Scarlett. They do everything together like sharing secret, clothes, and crushes. Halley is a quiet and shy person. She tends to get nervous easily and had a hard time making new friends whereas Scarlett is the type who’s good around people and popular. She is very mature and flamboyant. Halley would be the sidekick to Scarlett. They both live in directly opposite homes and both work at Milton’s Market. Scarlett meant a boy over the summer, Michael Sherwood, who soon later becomes her boyfriend. On one devastating day after she sleeps with him for the first time, he is killed in a motorcycle accident. Halley, who is on a trip to the Grand Canyon earlier in the summer, comes back hom......
