Abstract
This study was designed to examine the relationship between future orientation and getting tattoos. The study included 25 African American college students who attended a historically black university. The participants completed a survey containing items measuring future orientation and the number of tattoos they had. There was no evidence of a relationship between future orientation and getting tattoos. Several problems with the study were discussed. In addition, suggestions for future research were presented.
