A flashbulb memory is a memory that was laid down in great detail during a personally significant event, often a shocking event of national or international importance. This must be the reason why September 11, 2001 is a day that will stay embedded in the mind of every American around for the experience.
As I look back to that date, when I was sitting in my 7th grade classroom after prayers waiting to begin working. Just another boring morning at school, or so I thought. Just then the principal got on the loud speaker and announced that we were on a state of emergency. Then she announced that our parents would be called and everyone would be picked up to go home.
As bad as it sounds, all the kids were excited about going home. The degree of seriousness did not hit any of us because we really werent aware of what exactly was going on, all we knew was that what ever happened was getting us home early. In a way you can say it was nothing more then an early dismissal snow day to us. The teacher made an attempt to quite the class down as she pulled out a small radio from the close......
