Through the progression and evolution of the world and North America people have been doing things they knew were wrong but did nothing to stop it. Slavery in the new world was no different, colonists and settlers knew that rejecting the rights of all men and preventing freedom for a certain population was not the right or just thing to do but it took them hundreds of years to finally stop it and change their attitude. Slavery in the new world led to many revolts and contradictions over time, and finally through many steps the leaders of this great nation and colonists figured out the right thing to do. When the founding fathers set up this nation they knew slavery was unjust and intolerable, they just werent aware of how or when to resolve this crisis and because of this African Americans suffered, were mistreated and torn to either side during the American Revolution.
