There are many ways to analyze and criticize a novel such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Samuel Clemens, more commonly known as Mark Twain. One important aspect of the novel that can be chosen to be viewed, analyzed, and criticized is the class organization or societal organization of the characters and people in the novel. The class structure in the novel can be viewed with the ideology of Karl Marx, a German philosopher and economist, who believed that there was "class warfare" between the different classes of society as lower and middle classes tried to raise their status to the next class and the higher classes of society attempted to maintain their positions while keeping lower classes in their place. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain created three very different and distinct classes.
